We continued our investment into our Calendaring support in Sugar 6.5 by reaching out to another fine SugarForge project, this time the iCal Patch project created by Ray Gauss II. This brings read-only support for viewing your Sugar calendar inside any iCal compatible calendar app, such as Apple’s iCal, Mozilla Sunbird, Outlook 2007/2010, Google Calendar, as well as on your iPhone or Android phone.
The simpliest usage is to just put the URL on you account page right into the client of choice, as shown below:
Put your username in where it says %MYUSERNAME% and your Publish Key in where it says %MYSECRETKEY%.
But there are a number of URL parameter you can pass as well in the URL to do a few other neat things. Here’s a quick rundown…
Number of Months:
The default number of months to fetch events from is +-2 but you can override that by specifying num_months in the URL:
The default encoding will be UTF-8 but you can override that by specifying the encoding in the URL:
The default charset will be UTF-8 but you can override that by specifying the charset in the URL:
The default HTTP spec is 1.1 but you can override that by specifying the spec in the URL, useful when deploying to some servers like nginx (which SugarCRM on demand uses):
