Include additional libaries in an upgrade-safe way

Another recent forums poster asked this question…

does somebody know, how can I integrate my library in custom/include/utils and to be used in all modules and execute only once?

In the past you would need to add a require_once in the custom/include/custom_utils.php to include the file in, which would include it in an upgrade-safe way. However, this isn’t all that preferred as a method, and using the Ext framework is the much better way to go.

How do you do this with the Ext Framework then? Just drop your library file in the custom/Extension/application/Ext/Utils/ folder and do a Quick Rebuild and Repair, and the file will be included.

  1.

As of 6.7.0, the Extension Framework is the only option. custom/include/custom_utils.php doesn’t get used anymore.
