Editor’s Note: This post comes from the blog of Sugar Partner and Open+ Developer Program member Profiling Solutions. In this post, developer Matt Poer gives advice for an issue he’s seen with upgrading from Sugar 5.5.1 to 6.1.0.

If you’re receiving this error message while upgrading your SugarCRM system, there is likely a solution. Originally posted in a SugarCRM forum post by forum member heywhat, it seems that some amount of code within the upgrade scripts for going from version 5.5.1 to 6.1.0 is simply busted.

As a work-around, use the intermediary upgrade at 6.0.4, so that the steps are 5.2.0x -> 5.5.1 -> 6.0.3 -> 6.1.6 -> 6.2.1. Find all of the upgrade scripts and silent-updater packages on the SugarCRM CE download page.

Good luck!
