I spent last week escaping the cold and snow that made it’s way over the midwest, heading down to Raleigh for our first code sprint at our brand new offices in the Research Triangle. This time we expanded the scope of the code sprint, with several community developers along with representing developers from various Sugar VAR partners across the US to work on building new functionality inside the Sugar product.
It was a short sprint, with just over 2 days of coding time, but the developers were heads down right away and turned out some amazing additions you’ll be seeing in the product soon, such as a…
- A prototype of a Google + integration that uses our Connectors framework
- Making it easier to add custom modules my removing the dependencies on the modules.php file
- Allowing modules to exist entirely in the custom/ directory
- And certainly not least, a conflict catcher tool to alert you of any core file changes you have made that hooks into the Upgrade Wizard and Diagnostic Tool
Here’s a few pictures from the event:
I want to thank everyone who came out to the event from all over the US. As we are now starting a tradition of sorts with this, we invite anyone who has ever been a part of our code sprints to join the Sugar Code Sprint Alumni LinkedIn group to keep that community going and hear when the next sprint is coming up.
