This month for our monthly Sugar Community webinar, we’ll have Amanda Anderson from SugarCRM Gold Partner Epicom presenting about “Building a User Group for the User, and not for the Entire Community”. Here’s a brief abstract of her talk.
It’s impossible to pick a topic that interests and applies to everyone in a community. Through trial and error, Epicom has seen success in hosting its own SugarCRM User group. The beauty of a community is that they’re not going anywhere. They may not be an engaged member all the time, but they will be if a topic interests them. The worst thing you could do is pick a topic that pulls in a ton of people, but then you try to stretch it to fit everyone during the event. People will be frustrated that they wasted an hour and only got 5 minutes worth out of the session. It’s better to let them pick a topic they like, even if the events are months apart, and then come away feeling great about the event. It’s those members that will spread the word and grow the community.
If you have a Sugar user group or are thinking about starting one, this is definitely a webinar you want to be a part of. You can join in on the meeting on Wednesday, March 21st at 11:00am US Eastern Time via WebEx at https://sugarcrm.webex.com/sugarcrm/j.php?ED=157283397&UID=1200609522&RT=MiMxMQ%3D%3D. Look forward to having everyone join in.
