Add a new User via web services

It’s easy to leverage the Sugar web services framework to easily add any new records to the system with ease. This includes new User records, but as Suga Charles Hicks found out, there’s a few hidden fields needing set in order for that new user to be used.

Let’s look at the Ruby code he used first…

There’s a few important key fields in the record…

user_name - The login name for the user
user_hash - The password for the user, MD5 encoded
employee_status - Set to 'Active' to indicate they are an active Employee ( for the Employees module )
status - Set to 'Active' to indicate they are an active User ( otherwise logins are disabled )

This should help you be more successful in creating new users via Web Services.
