Sugar On Demand – PHP 5.3 across the board!

Matthew Marum —  May 30, 2013 — 2 Comments

We reached a big milestone this week; our entire OD infrastructure has now been updated to the latest version of PHP 5.3 ( 5.3.25 to be exact ). This means you should be seeing a nice performance boost if you are using Sugar On Demand, as PHP 5.3 has many performance improvements; see some of the comparisons…

This is all in addition to the numerous language enhancements we’ve discussed before. And add to the fact the numerous security issues that PHP 5.2 has with it that aren’t going to be patched. We at Sugar will looking to make PHP 5.3 our minimum supported PHP version going forward with Sugar 7 later this year, so we encourage you to do the same.
