Want to add new fields to a view during a module install?

One of the biggest limitations I’ve seen for using module loadable packages is the ability to add new fields directly on to views on existing modules. So for example, you could add new custom field on the Accounts module, but you could put that field in the display of the Edit or DetailView.

However, our friends at Epicom have figured out a nice way to do this that plays well with our Package Scanner on OD, and leverages the existing Studio framework. Check out the code example below ( which is from http://codesearch.epicom.com/displayFile.php?filename=./EpicomsQuickBooksIntegration/scripts/pre_install.php&q=ParserFactory originally )…

You can use this via a pre_install or post_install script easily. Thanks to the folks at Epicom for this!
